The Healing Power Of Forgiveness

She said things so hurtful, did plainly declare it.
The sentiments uttered left me wounded in spirit.
Others I knew who also by her words were hurt.
I thought her soul must be so bound to treat people like dirt.
At first, I was unaware. I did not even know
that a root of bitterness in my heart had started to grow.
One day that still, small voice showed me I had to forgive.
There's just no other way for a Christian to truly live.
By God's help, I forgave her from my heart.
That day I was given a brand new start.
