MY LORD MY GOD

by Peter the Poet
www.youtube.com/channel/UC_GtbBeRm8ctYlmNqax4afA

The Lord of glory is in my heart,
His praises are on my tongue.
From grace and mercy I'll never part,
His truth and love will keep me young.

What am I without the Lord,
But a bitter hollow shell.
A cursed thing, a rusted sword,
A dry place where Devils dwell.

But with the Lord my spirit's full,
He runneth over my cup.
His guidance is as soft as wool,
His strength it lifts me up.

To serve the living God I live,
Before his might I bow.
My love and life I freely give,
For his work, the sweat of my brow.

My holy God is on the throne,
He sees to all my houses needs.
To lay at his feet my spirit groans,
His righteous judgements reap the weeds.

Creation glorifies the Lord of Hosts,
All things proclaim his might.
Lift his name from coast to coast,
And be worthy in his sight.

AUTHORS NOTE:
I don't have the words to accurately describe the joy of the Lord, except to say that once you have it, there is no need for anything else. All we can do is try and give God glory and praise at every chance, as a small token of our appreciation for the way he has turned our lives. To those of you who don't know the Lord, I tell you now that no amount of hypnosis, character building programs or other gimmicks that you can buy into, can fill the hole inside you like the Lord can.
