JERICHO'S LESSON

by Peter the Poet
www.youtube.com/channel/UC_GtbBeRm8ctYlmNqax4afA

I know how you feel my suffering friend,
You think that the worry will never end.
In turmoil you live there's doubt in your soul,
No matter how hard you try, you can't reach the goal.

Your witness and preaching falls on deaf ears,
No ground has been gained by shedding of tears.
Repeated defeats are taking their toll,
Your feeling deserted, stuck in a hole.

Whenever you speak, the barriers are erected,
Your labelled, laughed at, dismissed and neglected.
No chance is given for your words to be spoke,
Your left feeling hurt with a heart that's been broke.

The walls are so strong they've been built over time,
The battlements tall, the defences refined.
You push and you push with your battering ram,
But your efforts are nought, your labours a sham.

For the King and the Princes and Powers inside,
Built the walls strong so they've somewhere to hide.
From the stronghold they rule, their orders they give,
In fear of losing their place to live.

But they were doomed before they began,
Because the Lord, in his wisdom, has given a plan.
A plan to rid loved ones of evil's tricks,
It's found in Joshua Chapter Six.

March around the walls in prayer every day,
You don't need anything fancy to say.
Just listen to God, follow his lead,
And behind those walls you'll plant a seed.

When the timing is right, the marching is halted,
The name of the Lord is loudly exalted.
And the Lord's mighty hand will smash the walls flat,
And as for the Enemies power; Well, that's that!

So it may look grim when the walls in place,
They might be showing an angry face.
But the Powers inside can't match the Lord's might,
So pray and be brave, and you'll win the fight.

AUTHORS NOTE:
Nothing can stand against the Lord's power. If we are faithful to follow his lead and willing to fight against a ruthless enemy, God will smash the strongholds that stand as a barrier in our path. So if you want the most stiff necked loved one saved, put on your battle gear and your marching boots and be prepared to use them otherwise the wall will not come down. God can, if it is his will, smash the wall without you, but we must be willing to work, fight and even die to break down the strongholds and free the captives inside.
