When it's too heavy for my hands to hold;
When it's too slippery for me to clasp;
When it's too wide for my arms to enfold;
When it's too difficult for me to grasp;
It is right then I must remember,
It is to the Lord I must surrender;
For He is conscious of my agenda;
Through ev'ry frustration, my Defender.
When some of my days don't make any sense;
When the path through the forest seems too dense;
When more and more people find life too intense;
When they feel enclosed by a rigid fence -
They aimlessly battle, seeking release,
Seeking contentment and a better peace;
There's such a peace, which in Jesus won't cease;
Receive from the Lord; let your fears decrease.
When Jesus lifts the load, my hands can hold;
When Jesus cleans me up, I can clasp;
When Jesus changes me, my arms enfold;
When Jesus helps me, all things I can clasp.
