Treasured Gifts

by Kristine Stanton © 2022

"Every good and perfect gift is from above,
coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights,
who does not change like shifting shadows."
(James 1:17, NIV)

In silence I sat listening
for the voice I've come to know—
the voice of the Almighty One
in whom my faith does grow.

And as I sat in silence
awaiting my dear King,
I noticed gifts around me—
sweet gifts of finest things.

These gifts were treasured blessings
each one that I did see—
I saw the Lord's Creation
He shares with you and me.

My heart leapt with thanksgiving
to think the Lord did share
all that He created—
with each one of His heirs.
