STUMBLING AROUND

The road is narrow and the road is straight
At the end there is an awesome gate
An entry to Heaven where suffering ends
No sorrow or tears and brokenness mends.

I'm happy to be travelling down that road
Heading to a promised much better abode
Not like the twists and turns I used to walk
Comparing the two is like Cheese and Chalk.

While walking the road you gain knowledge and peace
You gain more and more until time of decease
You let go of the world and all of its garbage
Avoiding the worst of the flesh driven carnage.

But that doesn't mean it's an easy stroll
You must keep watch for the occasional Troll
Who hides by the roadside ready to pounce
Ready to stop you, accuse and denounce.

Not to mention the Demons that throw Darts & Stones
To impede your progress and shatter your Bones
And the ones that are thrown direct in your path
Can cause you much trouble and create a bloodbath.

For then you could trip and perhaps even fall
A once brisk walk can become a slow crawl
Or maybe you could even fall off the road
Spend time in the wilderness a lonely abode.

So do not take lightly the journey you are on
There is much trouble coming before we are gone
But that is just the Enemy doing his thing
We may lose a few battles and feel his sting.

Keep the Word close and keep your walk true
Let them throw stones in their attempted coup
God wants us to stand in HIS strength and power
Roll with the punches until the final hour.

Although sometimes we're tired and want the journey to end
Just wanting to see Heaven…Finally ascend
I would not swap the journey for an easier route
So I'll just Soldier on and stand resolute.
