Have you considered the eternal plan?
The love of Christ within our hearts has shone
The streaming light of all that He has done
The depths and priceless riches of that Man.
Probe deep and find the power of the Dove
The Perfect Helper who will show the way
And though profound, will there display
The depths and priceless riches of that Love.
If you would search, dig further, you would find
God there to meet you, and to show His will
And bid you climb the mine-shaft further still
The depths and priceless riches of His mind.
The perfect hiddenness has us enticed
For God has cloaked Himself in mystery
Unfolding bit by bit through history
The depths and priceless riches of the Christ.
Who is not awed with wonder at His grace?
Though all of us are guilty to our shame
Of missing deeper wonders of His fame
Despite the rich forgiveness in His face.
He pulls us in, to find a better part
Within His mine a splendid deeper thing
Waiting for us to dig and then to sing
Of untold depths and riches of His heart.
His parables still hide a deeper vein
And draw us to the mystery of His ways
The Sun breaks through the clouds with wondrous rays
The riches of His Sunshine after rain.
His wisdom draws us deeper to His thought
This Jesus, Son of God, this lowly Man
The love of God before the world began
Riches, and only this, forever sought.
