Another Soul was Won

by Kristine Stanton © 2021

I never met a stranger that the good Lord didn't know,
but I came upon a stranger who knew not God but woe.
His heart was very heavy and tarnished by his sins.
He thought that no one loved him, as darkness lived within.

I listened to his story, as tears fell from my eyes.
This man had suffered greatly and knew the reasons why.
He had made some choices that laced his heart with sin
causing friends and family to walk away from him.

'Twas then I turned to face him and earnestly I said,
"you have been forgiven for the sinful life you've led."
I told him he'd be washed clean and given a new start
if he'd turn to Jesus and ask Him in his heart.

After several minutes, this man got on his knees.
He asked the Lord's forgiveness, "forgive me, will You please?"
Surrounded by God's glory, in the presence of His Son,
he thanked and praised Lord Jesus and another soul was won.
