Love hints at the promise of pain,
Blessing and heartaches comes with the rain,
Life growing in the midst of the storms,
Shaping and healing as character forms.
Pain reminds of the beauty we share,
Only experienced because of the care,
Causing reflection on what we obtain,
Healing within; the promise of pain.
The promise of pain should not be forgotten,
Otherwise, its burden will make our hearts rotten,
Thankful forever of its explaining of love,
Exploring in fullness; giving selfish a shove.
Pain not desired but neither ignored,
Embraced by acceptance of what He's restored,
Seeking His heart by the changing of mine,
Knowing the promise that He will refine.
