Overnight

It seems like you've been overlooked;
like everybody's passing you by.
You've tried to do everything right.
But, for this, you don't understand why.

Your neighbor is getting married.
Your best friend got a new job.
Your co-worker just got a raise.
And your brother won a trip to Cape Cod.

It looks like life's so good to them
and they just have good fate.
But what you fail to understand, my friend
is that they also had to wait.

To everything there's a season
and we all must wait our turn.
But when we struggle against God's timing,
we grow weary for the things we yearn.

So, don't be discouraged by someone's blessing.
Instead rejoice! You just moved up one flight.
Don't sit around keeping time on God's plans.
He can change things overnight!
