Tears - Collected and Recorded

by Kristine Stanton © 2016

When we toss and we turn
through the dark of night,
You see our afflictions—
our sorrows and fright.

You collect all the tears
that fall from our eyes
and preserve them with love
like stars in the skies.

They're kept in a bottle
and guarded with care.
You've made them Your treasures
and each one is rare.

All tears are recorded
in the Book You keep,
because You are saddened
by the tears we weep.
