FALLEN FLAME

by Kingsley Ayistar
http://ayistary.blogspot.com

Love is a fallen flame ceased in the cold,
A passion blown out to passivity;
Burn my devotion to glisten as gold!

Anchor-less in the wind my soul is sold
As chaff, sifted to guilt's shady valley
Love is a fallen flame ceased in the cold.

Strangely the heart shades out of Your mold,
Descending to carnal delight daily,
Burn my devotion to glisten as gold!

In the light of Your judgement fear breaks bold,
Bearing prospects of condemning fury:
Love is a fallen flame ceased in the cold.

Fogged by the darkness visions of hope fold,
Betraying efforts to trust in mercy;
Burn my devotion to glisten as gold.

At last my spirit breaks as grace explodes,
Announcing salvation joy floods richly.
Love, the fallen flame ceased in the cold,
Burns my devotion to glisten as gold!

John 3:16
King James Version

"For God so loved the world, that he
gave his only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in him should not
perish, but have everlasting life."
