A Burning love displayed at Calvary
Thawed our cold hearts; we gazed upon the Tree
As cosmic powers gazed too, but never saw
The power of love, the wonder and the awe.
This wondrous love can solve the plight of man
And demonstrate the truth of God's great plan
His Man, His Christ, would take our hopeless case
And spread His love throughout the human race.
This strong salvation burns throughout the earth
The blood of suffering spreads its healing worth
What He has done will ring across the years
And hope is born replacing desperate fears.
His pinioned arms forever open wide
The cleansing blood flowed from His riven side
We stand in awe for this is what He's done
A victory in our lives, forever won.
The wounded Christ, the matchless Son of God
Whose Cross would end the humble steps He trod
But now He steps within our lives this hour
As living proof of resurrection power!
