My Rose

by brian

I came across a Rose so true, whose pedals were not red, but blue
A life not rich as some would measure, but she sent ahead her treasure
Her love would stretch across the States as she stayed in her garden gates
She'd always give up her last dime and never say,"I don't have time
This precious Rose of days gone by, I'll see again beyond the sky
She has been transplanted from this old earth's unworthy sod
in the garden of our Lord's Heaven, not made by man, but by God
This Rose of blue shined with a heavenly love like no other
I know this because this precious blue Rose was and is My Mother.
