Fruity Thanksgiving

by Donna Hendrix

I hope you have a most fruitful Thanksgiving day
And over the coming year many blessings come your way

Eat lots of turkey and dressing and a little pumpkin pie
But really fill your plate with fruit and watch it multiply

Take the seeds from all the fruit of God's wondrous tree
Plant a grove of kindness and love and give it away for free

You'll want an orchard of joy and peace
For then you can truly have a great feast

Grow your bunches of goodness and self control
And of these make sure you keep a full bowl

Plant the seeds for patience and faithfulness
For a table full of these will bring much happiness

When Thanksgiving comes next year
There will be a huge harvest; have no fear

There will be enough fruit for a lifetime to keep
For whatever a man sows, that he will also reap
