Pilgrim, Stay the Course

by Poetess K © 2019

The yoke is easy, and the burden is light
But the road is steep and narrow
The way is written, but the words cut deep
Dividing the joints from the marrow

The enemy lurks behind every bush
Like a lion who roars at your fears
Be strong and courageous, be not dismayed
For the Lion of Judah appears

Pilgrim, Pilgrim, stay the course
Do not grow weary nor faint
For you walk with the Son, and towards the One
Who turns sinners into saints

At the end of your journey, a Kingdom so grand
Pure gold and with only one Gate
You know Him as Jesus who walked with you
And for you, He did joyously wait
