Rest, My Soul, Rest

by Deborah Ann Belka

Rest, my soul rest,
return to your state of peace
give your fears to the Lord
and find complete release.

Revisit His loving kindness,
dwell in the calmness of His ease
retire thyself in His fullness
let His grace bow your weary knees.

Go back to thy youthful days,
remember His patience ~ bountiful
reclaim your right to His respite
for His endurance is plentiful.

Rest, my soul rest,
let His mercy comfort and console
return to your state of peace
and let His tranquility take control!

Psalm 116:7
King James Version

"Return unto thy rest, O my soul;
for the LORD hath dealt bountifully
with thee."
