What law?

by Clinton Herring

What law is there against love?
The Spirit bids us walk above.

What law is there against joy?
Such ecstasy from God to enjoy.

What law is there against peace?
It bids all anger, hatred cease.

What law is there against patience?
Not ranting and raving its essence.

What law is there against kindness?
A hand reached out in selflessness.

What law is there against goodness?
This attribute of God in holiness.

What law is there against faithfulness?
Not abandoning other in foolishness.

What law is there against gentleness?
A kind hand offered to the helpless.

What law is there against self-control?
A character found in all who are whole.

Gods' fruit of the Spirit the standard
from which we should never meander.
