Happy Birthday, Rebekah

by Margaret Cagle

Happy birthday, dear beloved Rebekah.
There in Heaven, I wish you could know
That I miss hearing your sweet voice,
And that I miss you and love you so.

You were born on Thanksgiving Day,
November twenty-six, thirty-two years ago.
They may not count years up in Heaven
As we mere mortals do here below.

It's been seven months since you left.
I ponder this question every single day,
"Why should a grandmother live to see
A dear young grandchild pass away?"

I think about you every single day
As the many memories flood my soul.
I know you are happy there with Jesus
And with loved ones while the ages roll.

Some day I will be there with you.
I do not know when that day will be.
Until then I will keep you in my heart
Until your dear sweet face I shall see.
