Yes or No

by Kathleen Higham

Is it yes, or is it no?
Where then Lord shall I go?
In the chair I quietly sit, undone
You say to me, "I got this one."

Oh thank you Father God, I pray
These are my thoughts on this day
For I have failed so miserably
Take this burden of life from me.

Is it yes, or is it no?
Lord, be it simple, be it so
That one would cry to You and say
"God please take this agony away."

A tear dries on a pain wracked face
But He has come to take my place
One word to Him, then acquiesce
Peace comes in the sigh of---Yes.
