THE WATCHMAN

by Wale Adekoya

Inquirer

O watchman, watchman
What of the night,
For alas the people sleep,
Discerning not the shepherds
Who feign to feed their sheep.

Watchman

Awake, awake o sleeping Church
For the night is now far spent.
I see the sword in swift approach
It's high time to repent.
I see the Bridegroom coming
And His reward with Him
Prepare yourselves O people
and purge yourselves from sin

Inquirer

O watchman, watchman
What do you see,
For darkness shrouds the earth.
Can such a small travailing Church
Find strength to now give birth?

Watchman

Rejoice ye with Jerusalem
Be glad all ye that mourn
I see a people great and strong
Approaching with the dawn
A man-child company to be birthed
and caught up to the throne.
Now will the kingdoms of this world
Belong to God alone.
