Goodbye for Now

we gather to remember
a loved one passed away,
celebrating a life lived
memories we now survey.

the pain we bear reminds us
of the value of love shared,
the weight of grief is heavy
broken hearts cannot be spared.

each moment shared is precious
hold each other with great care,
Father's comfort may we know
as the hardest day we share.

connection's beauty hidden
in shadows that will not last,
for our future together
is much greater than our past.

know the refuge of Christ's love
with true hope our hearts we guard,
farewell is not forever
just a goodbye that is hard.
