Stand Fast in God

by Micah Betzner © 2024

Has Jesus not my sin-debt fully paid?
So why should I then look upon a maid?
Will He not bless the faithful with His prize?
Then why should I set sin before my eyes?
Should I despise the righteous blood He shed,
And cast aside the leading of my Head,
To serve a wicked master in disguise
Who is not me, but Satan and his lies?
No, I must, within the chambers of my heart,
Stand fast in God and purpose from the start
To trust His Word, surrender all my will,
If I would be His useful vessel still.
