HOURS AWAY

by Pearl Leona Sturgis
https://www.facebook.com/pearlleona

I'll put on the coffee
And wait here at home.
I'll try not to worry
And stay by the phone.

For somebody special
I'm meeting today.
They tell me the baby's
Just hours away

My arms have been empty
For so many years.
I miss the mud pies,
The laughter and tears.

Rocking my baby
To sleep in my arms;
Kissing the hurt away;
Singing my songs.

Hours away from a
Life time to love.
Coming to stay...
Sent from heaven above.

One little angel
Will enter my world.
I'm hours away
From my sweet baby girl!
