Gone So Soon

by Margaret Cagle

All of us who loved him
Heard the bad news that day.
"His life ended ever so soon"
Is what we all did say.

We do not know the reason
God took him home so young,
But we should not question God,
So we'll just hold our tongue.

He had trusted in the Savior.
From sin he was set free.
Now he's strolling over Heaven.
In no more pain will he be.

I know we do not understand
Until God makes it clear
Why he had to die so young
And leave us all down here.

Until then, we will hold on
To memories that are dear.
We will ask God for comfort,
For He sees each little tear.
