The Birth of Our Savior

by Kristine Stanton © 2023

The cry of a child
broke the silence of night,
and Magi brought gifts
to the babe at this site.

The birth of a King
was what brought them so far,
guided through darkness
by a bright eastern star.
'Twas a glorious night
for the world to behold,
as the child lay wrapped
in a manger so cold.

No room at the Inn
and no crib for His bed—
a hay-filled manger,
where He rested His head.

Angels in Heaven
had triumphed with great joy,
singing God praises
at the birth of this boy. . .

Our Father in Heav'n
lavished blessings on Earth
by sending this child
and announcing His birth.
