Roaming in God’s Refuge

The battled turtle roams,
Never far from his home,
Secure in the refuge of his shell,
A place of safety where he can dwell.

The battled Christian roams,
Always far from his home,
Hidden in the refuge of his shell,
Buried in shame, he is not well.

The secret Christian roams,
No one knows where is his home,
Hidden in the mask of his shell,
How he's faring who can tell.

The contented Christian roams,
Never far from his home,
Secure in the refuge of God's shell,
A place of beauty where he can dwell.
