The Gift

For the blind to be healed with new sight
A Savior for the masses, needing to be saved
From worldly desires to which they craved
The path was difficult, but the Gift prevailed
Spreading love and truth to lives that failed
Performing miracles to cure the inflicted
Filled with the Word, a power unrestricted
Dark forces plotting evil meant to destroy
Pre-ordained, the Gift did not fight the ploy
Relinquished life upon a sacrificial hill
All seemed lost except the prophecy to fulfill
The faithful mourned with heartfelt praise
Awaiting the promise that the Gift would raise
Then life was restored, a new light, the Spirit
Shining salvation on any who sought to be near it
Heaven, the reward all saved souls would lift
Eternity, all because of God, and Jesus the Gift
Now you have every spiritual gift you need as you eagerly wait for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 1:7
