Both light and warmth the fire would spread around
A reassuring yet consuming sound
A path of light
And glow along a way that was pre-planned
But if the wind unwanted flamings fanned
A panicked flight
Would bring all living creatures to the fore
Who race ahead while tongues of fire soar.
Fire is God-given, an all-consuming power
His hands direct which way the flames devour
His heart of Fire
Burns all that's flammable to show the gold
Which proved a purity that God can mould
A journey higher
Reflecting all that Pentecost would bring
The Spirit's power and beauty on the wing.
God's Spirit to the world will be
A foretaste of eternity
And shows that Christ
Will fill, restore and overflow
And to the hurting world, His presence show
It has sufficed
To fill the many, their lake of fire gone
The Spirit's fire to all the world has shone.
