My Child, My Heart

If I could offer the air that you breathe
Or the sun to always shine on your life
If I could give you the things you desire
Or take away your toil and your strife

If I could wipe away every tear that you shed
Or soften your pain and your falls
If by some way I was given the power
I'd be there every time that you call

If I could leave you with one single thing
It would be with all the love I possess
Compassion for people and all living things
And how my life has been richly blessed

I would leave you the insight to know people
And the knowledge that love never parts
I'd leave the joy that has filled up my life
With you, my child, my heart
