Tradition.

Tradition serves the mind and not the heart
Though some traditions often serve their way
In certain cases they must not depart
Or else the world would not know night from day
And lose its way.

For many times, traditions carve a track
That deepens as a rut that holds our feet
But in their rigid way would hold us back
And in the end cause us to know defeat
And wrongs repeat.

But in the times when Jesus walked the earth
So many would His grace-full teachings spurn
And in so doing, nullify His worth
Religious tracks too deep for them to learn
Or show concern.

When His disciples picked the ears of corn
And in their hunger, broke the Sabbath law
His stern accusers soon would show their scorn
Their righteous arguments on which to draw
A moral flaw.

But Jesus stalwart, turned and answered them
'The Sabbath is but made for man' He said
'Not man just for the Sabbath;' wisdom's gem
Here, Sabbath's Lord dispensing Living Bread
Life from the dead.

For Grace and Truth would always come by Him
The heart is saturated by His Grace
There is no other place for us to swim
We find the shore to enter His embrace
And see His face.

Truth is still truth and will affect the mind Grace will do its work, Truth will follow on Traditions will no longer hold, or bind,
And Grace, only Grace, eternally has won
Victorious Son!
