Greater than Angels (Hebrews Chapter 1)

God has freely spoken many times within the past
To those who carry weight and firm authority
By prophets seasoned in God's mind, to all, His word they passed
Though many would not hear their cry, nor heed their gravity.

Across the ancient plains and dusty light of desert sun
The whisper of the Spirit on the wind, bids men a subtle call
In loving kindness God will speak, but still His voice they'll shun
As murmurs in the breeze of Grace upon their conscience fall.

And now he speaks within the latter days so clearly by His Son
Through whom He made the world and of everything the heir
The brightness of God's glory and more dazzling than the sun
The image of God's person, yet the world is unaware

He purged our sins, now sitting on the Majesty on high
Much better than the angels, and much better name than they
Let all God's angels worship Him, His excellence supply
And fill the lack that men and angels' honour would convey.

Both men and angels worship Him for all eternity
For only He could lift the curse that's placed alone on man
And only He could bear that weight, to give the guarantee
Forgiveness, is the wonder and the beauty of His plan.

Though He was made a little lower than the angels then
God crowned Him with the glory and the honour due to Him
Though angels cannot share redemptions wondrous plan with men
All share reflected glory of their God, filled to the brim.
