Glory (1 Corinthians 1 v 26-31)

Those who are called by God will always find
Despite their thoughts, and mysteries of the mind
That they would know that there's not many wise
According to the flesh's dominant disguise
Not many noble, who would hold great power
Pride has no part to play within their hour.

For it is God who chose the foolish things
Putting to shame the wise of this world's kings
Also He chose the weak, base and despised
Things that are not, in the Grace of God disguised
To bring to nothing all that humans see
No glory in the flesh can ever be.

We are in Him, our rightful place restored
And only He, the One of all adored
He became to us, wisdom, righteousness
Sanctified, redeemed, no other way but this
But glory that the world forever shows
Would point to man, and ways of God oppose.

The glory of humility, the glory of the Man
Who conquered death, God's wondrous living plan
To show a different way, of suffering, pain and loss
Where we would bow, the glory of the Cross
And see Him there, the bearer of our sin
And in His glory we can enter in.

If we will glory, we glory in the Lord
And we too, glory in a place restored
We were far off and in a distant way
Not knowing that our path was far astray
We have returned and see His glory now
And only to this glory will we bow!
