Peace begins with me,
And also with you:
We cannot escape our responsibility,
Or delegate it to others,
We must become the person
We expect of all our brothers.

Peace begins inside us,
And also in them:
Not just something to discuss,
But a way to live,
A willingness to listen, to understand,
To frequently forgive.

Peace begins with souls,
And also with hearts,
Ask not "for whom the bell tolls?':
It's calling you to seek,
It's daring me to change
The way I see, and love, and speak.

Peace begins when we decide
That we can do this together.
