A Quiet Room

by Kristine Stanton © 2023

I went into a quiet room—
a room that had no chair,
and there I sat upon the floor—
my mind went here-and-there.

It's then I asked Almighty God
if He had time to spare.
I wanted to just chat with Him,
and asked Him in a prayer.

'Twas then the good Lord said to me,
"I am already here.
I'm ever with the ones I love—
I'm always here, my dear.

I never track the time I spend
with those who want to speak.
I have eternity to spend
with those who come and seek."
