Living What’s Best

bloodied dreams wreak havoc
soiling hope's pretty robes,
staining delight with dread
my broken heart explodes.

nightmares raid my daylight
attacking peace with shame,
connection burnt and scarred
love buried by the flame.

reckless expectations
drowning wisdom's beauty,
seeking only easy
"pleasing" is God's duty!

selfish indifference
clouding grace's request,
confused by my disdain
forgetting what is best…

bloodied cross brings promise
restoring hope's appeal
stains erased forever
God's loving heart reveal.

mercy flooding daylight
lighting peace with comfort,
connection comes alive
love declares triumphant.

holy expectations
proclaiming wisdom's vision,
seeking only Jesus
surrender my decision.

sacrificial thinking
embracing grace's rest,
knowing Father's refuge
now living what is best!
