Solitude

by Heather Stephens © 2024

In the quiet of the morning,
I catch my breath and pray.
The world seems so unyielding,
As I rush through everyday.

The morning is my still space,
To consider all my life.
I contemplate your goodness,
And let go of all the strife.

In solitude, I see more clearly,
Your hand in this world's mess.
It allows me time to refocus,
And cast away the doubt, I confess.

Thank you for standing by,
When I know I need a friend.
Your goodness is immeasurable,
Your love for me has no end.
