Wording of this Handout:

What does an ostrich eat? Leaves and grass, grains and insects.

How fast can an ostrich run? Top speed would be about 70 km/h - much faster than the fastest human can run. No Olympic sprinter could beat an ostrich.

Ostrich feathers are still used as fashion items. They are long, and beautiful, and they can look good stuck to a hat or a dress. The eggshells can also make great ornaments too, either painted with pretty designs or fitted into special holders.

The African ostrich has two toes on each foot. It is the only bird in the world which has only two toes. Each toe has a cushion under it, to stop the ostrich from sinking into soft sand.

Ostriches show the clever design of God. Their beaks, feathers, necks, wings, eggs, legs and toes all display the wonderful designing ability of God who created them.
