078 - Hungry baby

The baby is hungry.

I was at someone's home one day when the baby started to cry. It lay in its cot and screamed! Its little face was red with the effort, and the high-pitched sound went through the house like a fire engine siren!

The mother wasn't too bothered. All she said was "The baby's hungry" and she went on with making some biscuits at the bench.

The baby's crying grew louder and more frantic. It was screaming as if it was about to die! The mother finished the biscuits, put the tray into the oven and washed her hands, then she calmly went to pick the baby out of its cot.

In seconds the baby was quiet, a sweet, contented suckling. The baby's instinct to be fed was totally unreasonable. It would have been pointless explaining to it that the mother was going to be busy for another three minutes. all the baby know was HUNGER!

As Christians do we have hunger for God?
