It was so easy to just drift away

It was so easy to just drift away
to wander a little further each day.
For as I began to grow much older
my love grew a little colder.
It was so easy to just drift away

It seemed so easy to just move apart
although my love felt so great at the start.
Many wonderful moments I can tell
of when my love was strong and all was well.
It seemed so easy to just move apart.

Oh why don't I start all over again?
Holding Your hands and singing in the rain.
For my love does not have to end this way
and I can start afresh with You today.

My Lord, I so want to love You once more
For You are the only one I adore
So I kneel down upon my bended knee
and implore You my God, to forgive me.
My Lord I want to love you once more
