Guide me through turbulent waters
past the rocks and crags and fray
Midst the raging angst that surrounds me
I will not succumb today
Cover me with your spirit, though the fog
and haze seem gray
And the roaring torrent upon my soul
I long to cast away
Shower me with discernment
as the ice I trod is thin
Grant me the wisdom of knowing
how to quell this fracus within
Lead me past earthly temptation,
though it looks well to the eye
Cleanse me with your redeeming awareness
to the path I need to trod by
Envelope me with your presence,
for the streets I walk are bleak
And the darkness howls in yearning
for the souls you are to seek
Strengthen me with your power
to be a buoy upon the bay
Steer me to your lost sheep
so that they too, find the way
Sanctify me with your holiness
Bathe me in your light
Give me a heart thats pure and true
Blaze me with joyful delight.
