Rejoicing In The Lord

by Margaret Cagle

Sometimes trials come my way,
And troubles may enter my life.
It is very difficult to rejoice
In the midst of woes and strife.

Paul was beaten and in prison,
And these words came from his pen,
"Rejoice in the Lord always."
Christians have God's peace within.

Bitterness can never help us
When troubles come our way.
Let us rejoice in God's mercy
As we serve Him day by day.

Rejoice! God will not leave us.
He'll not forsake us, no never!
No matter how we may suffer,
Let's rejoice! God's with us ever!

Whether blessings flow our way,
Or whether we suffer and feel alone,
Let us rejoice in the Lord always.
God loves us. He's still on His throne!
