I prayed for

Last night I prayed for forgiveness
For the sins I had on my heart
I prayed for the cleansing of Jesus,
And asked to receive a new start
I prayed for the love of my children
And the strength to be their guide
I prayed for the love of the woman
God gifted to me as a wife
I prayed for our church and its people
For the sick and for those in need
I prayed for the ministries and outreach
And for the planting of seeds
I prayed for our town and our country
For guidance on those who would lead
I prayed for the ending of suffering
And the ending of hatred and greed
But most of all Lord Jesus,
I prayed in your Holy Name
For Your returning from Heaven
To earth, forever, to reign.
