His Rainbow Promise

The colors of the rainbow
in a sky of mixed emotion
Only to the storms of God
will it show a true devotion

A rage of rain will first fall
to remind us of a promise
It comes to wash away the gray
our lives have left upon us

The clouds will then flow apart
the sun's rays will show His mercy
They will cradle us in blanket
and will sing us tender verses

A rainbow of brilliant light
will roam across our lives
And God's love will grow within
and ease our troubled times

The colors are tender feelings
that we all have embedded
As a reminder of our Lord
as He waits for us in Heaven
