To Leave You Is A Sorrow

To leave you is a sorrow
which is always hard to bear.
But, we know a new tomorrow
will bring us together there.

When the angel blows his trumpet
and all life then subsides,
we will be called to the summit
with only our souls as guides.

There we will meet once more
with only joyous tears,
where there's sorrow nevermore
and no self-imposed fears.

This meeting will be only
a short time away,
whether in a thousand years
or one short day.

So until that trumpet blows
cry no more lonely tears,
for then we'll be together
for so many, many years.
