Slow Dance

by Craig Robinson

His gaze catches mine as he walks up to me
"Would you give me the pleasure to dance?"
I look up at Him and His smile was all I can see
"Sure, I was looking for some romance"

His face forms a quirky smile
"I dance a little differently"
I saw what he meant after a short while
"I know how to dance why should I trust you instead of me?"

His feet softly step on mine
"You have to learn how to follow"
I just can't keep his time
"I don't know the dance so how can I follow?"

His hand drops to my hip
"You must trust me"
I proceed to bite my upper lip
"I'm trying...can't you see"

He holds me tighter
"Stop trying, you don't have to impress"
I suddenly feel lighter
"You must become greater and I less"

He erupts in joy and proclaims
"Mark, now we are dancing in tune"
In awe I respond
"How awesome and mighty are You"
