Fresh Wind

by Gertrude Jefferies

(A prayer)

the wind has died
And my sails are slack
And I'm adrift on life's sea
Lord, it seems I can't make it into port
Please send a fresh wind to me.
A fresh wind to fill my sails again
A fresh wind to take up the slack
Lord, I can't make it into port on my own
I need your fresh wind at my back.
