Life is a song we all must sing,
With music of our own choosing.
Sometimes we sing a solemn dirge
Sometimes the music's amusing.
Although we did not choose the song
It's left to us how we sing it.
Some people do it artfully,
Others are content to 'wing it'.
Some sing only in minor keys,
Others in melodies sweet.
And there are times when some of us
Struggle just to keep the right beat.
The Maestro hears all of us sing
His ear is turned to ev'ry note.
And he gently helps us back on key,
When some of us are afloat.
Sometimes, we're asked to sing solos
Other times we sing harmonies.
However we choose to sing it.
Life is a symphony.
We do not know how long we'll sing,
The score is diff'rent for each one.
But this we know He will be there
Till our song is finally done.
