Three Letter Word.

by Paul Walsh

Three letters that carried much love,
That came from hearts, filled from above.
But just like knickers and button up shoes,
Lost to the world, like yesterdays news.

Brought much joy,to hearts that were sad,
Something to give, that everybody has.
Eased little bodies, hurting with pain,
Used by lovers, again and again.

Given to sisters, brothers and friends,
A token of love, that has no end.
Given to children, by mothers so free,
I remember the ones, given to me.

I feel the warmth these letters did bring,
Brought such peace, as birds that sing.
Children to parents, these letters return,
For in their hearts, these letters they yearn.

Years gone by and and we're older now,
But with the letters, you still know how,
To return of yourself, which was given to thee,
The three letter word, HUG, can change history.
