Having A Real Bad Day

by Gertrude Jefferies

Sometimes I want to run away,
Sometimes I want to scream.
Sometimes life can get so piled up
It's just like one bad dream.

Life pressures us from every side,
The going can be so tough,
And there are times I'd like to say,
"Take it back, I've had enough."

I'm trying to be honest, Lord,
And just let it all come out.
I know that you can see my heart,
And you know this is no joke!

You said that you'd be there for me,
My every need you'd fill
I guess what I need right now, Lord
Is strength to do your will.

My body's weary, my heart is tired
Seems I can't go one more mile,
So if its all right with you, Lord
I'd like to rest for a while.

But as I rest, Your strength I'll draw
To refresh and make me strong
And as I travel on my way,
In your strength I'll make it home.
